At Dilworth Glyndon Felton Schools, the health and safety of our students are our top priority. We understand the importance of managing food allergies and are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all of our students.
To ensure that our food allergy protocols are as effective as possible, we have implemented a variety of measures that prioritize the well-being of students with food allergies.
Staff Training and Awareness
All of our staff members undergo yearly, comprehensive training to recognize the symptoms of allergic reactions, as well as how to manage and respond effectively in emergency situations. This includes training on the importance of preventing cross-contamination and the steps to take if an allergic reaction occurs.
Point of Sale
Both sites are set up with Point of Sale systems that flag the cashier to a students special diets. The cashier is required to verify that the student has the correct items.
Major Allergen-Free Room at the Glyndon site
In addition, we are proud to announce the establishment of a dedicated Major Allergen-Free Room, where all food preparation and handling for special diets will be done without any of the major food allergens. This room has been designed to ensure that special diet foods can be safely handled in an environment where the risk of exposure is minimized.
Online Menu
Check out our online menu for further information on ingredients. Parents can sort out specific allergens and build a tray.
Special Diet Form
Please fill out this form if you need a special diet request. If you are only requesting a milk substitution no doctor signature is needed.
Our district is committed to keeping you informed and working with families to ensure that students with food allergies have the best possible experience while at school. We encourage parents and guardians to reach out to our school health or nutrition service staff if you have any specific concerns or questions.
