High School Principal's Desk

I would like to welcome you back for the 2017-2018 school year!  It is a privilege to address the community of learners that comprise the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School.  I want to acknowledge a special welcome back to the Class of 2018; our community will celebrate the cohort’s accomplishments during your pursuit of excellence throughout your senior year.

This welcome back letter includes important information for students & parents.

1. Review the enclosed letter from the DGF technology department regarding the implementation of Synergy, SchoolPay and SchoolMessenger.

2. Look at your 1st semester schedule online: you need to have classes for all seven periods of the day, if not you need to stop in during the schedule change days or set up a meeting to take care of this conflict. Schedule changes can be made August 24th – August 25th in the high school office. If you cannot make any of these dates please contact the office to make other arrangements.

3. Please fill out and return the free and reduced lunch application: if you are even close to qualifying.  This program means significant federal dollars to our district regardless if you and your family use the program or not.  We get money based on those who qualify for many programs, not to mention specific dollars for those who eat free or at reduced prices. The information is confidential so we cannot contact those people who qualified last year to re-enroll this year because we are not allowed that information.

4. Student Insurance Information: If you are interested in the insurance plan, you are responsible for completing the application, enclosing a check addressed to Student Assurance Services, and returning the completed application to the District Office. Coverage does not become effective until the premium is received by the school. All questions are to be directed to the company itself, not to the school district. Brochures are available in the High School Office.

Ninth Grade and New Student Orientation will be held on August 24th, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the High School Theater.  Ninth grade school pictures will be taken from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the high school lobby.  There will be a shuttle bus leaving the Dilworth School at 10:15 a.m. and returning at 12:15 p.m.

Back to School Night for the high school is August 28th, starting at 6:00 p.m. and concluding at 7:30 p.m.

Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Office phone number is 477-6804.
